Logie (left) and his brother Maverick (owned by Mark & Carol Rawlings)
This is Logies Mum "Corrie", Mussendun Hoozahunni. And she is a hunni!
This is Logies Dad, Giovanni av Nixenspitz. He was imported from Norway by the Mussendun Kennel in Ireland and has the most wonderful temperament.
With the Big fellas getting on in years, i decided to be a traitor to our lovely breed, and get a Eurasier. Well its more a case of downsizing, though it doesn't quite seem logical when im adding to a houshold of two large Gsds. Logie Bear was born 2nd June 2008. It was a tough decision but who could say no?
Another place of fun is Cullen beach!
Shepherds = Water!
Some friends that live in the same street as us who share our walks somtimes.
(l-r) Suzi, Nala (who sadly is no longer with us),Oban, Arran & little Leon! Guess whos got the sweeties!!!!
The Bin Hill at Cullen is a favourite walk. Though it can get quite windy up there!
My Boys!!
Though we enjoyed the obedience, there aren't that many shows to compete in in Scotland. So we tried our hand in the show ring and very quickly got bitten by the bug. That said Oban only enjoyed the fact that everyone had titbits in their pockets. (Somthing that was banned in the world of obedience.) He won several Best of Breeds (BOB) and group placings but being on show wasnt his thing. So Arran took over and qualified for Crufts as a puppy. He went on to prove himself in the ring and rarely let me down. He gained his Show certificate of merit in 2007 and was only the 2nd Gsd to do so in Scotland!
Apart from Companion Shows i dont think we have competed in Obedience again! Here's Gladys and Sue sheltering from the rain!
Then again Gladys maybe not!
Even doing their Sit stays
the rain and thunder kept coming!
Our Dog training club "Speyvalley DTC" had teamed up with Aberdeen Canine Training Society and went back to back with our Open show. It was great as we camped overnight at Hazelhead park in Aberdeen and got a chance to meet other like minded folks. That show in particular was quite memorable for a lot of people. On the Saturday we couldn't have asked for a nicer day. However on the Sunday,(luckily we were all up and had our breakfast,)just before judging started the clouds closed in and we had the most awful thunderstorm ever! Though our tent was still up, it still flooded! Those poor dogs!
Here we have our friends (l-r) Brint, Kiera,(owned by Jenny Wood)and Teazle (owned by Sue Gray). This was taken at ACTS 2006.
After completing their gold good citizens we though we'd try competition obedience. We had fun touring round Scotland. And we met quite a lot of nice chums on the way. Oban quickly won out of Pre Beginners, but competion has always been tough and his highest place so far was 2nd in Beginners at ACTS.
Then along came Arran, or, Forguecroft Days of Thunder ShCM! Son of Oban he was born 10th October 1999
In the beginning: There was Oban or otherwise known as Bogmuchals Crackerjack born 17th Jan 1997.
